The Academy

The Carla Rossi Academy - International Institute of Italian Studies, founded in 1994 in affiliation with the University of Connecticut - U.S.A. , is now a non-profit institution of the Italian Republic for advanced Italian studies specializing in Dante, the Tuscan Literary Trecento and the Renaissance (Art and Literature).
The Academy offers to graduate students from all over the world the possibility of advancing their knowledge of Italian studies in close proximity to the home of the European humanistic movement. Away from the hustle and bustle of the Florentine metropolis but within easy reach of it, the location of the Academy also offers access to other important artistic centers such as Pisa, Siena and Lucca. Since 1998, Carla Rossi Academy - INITS collaborates with Harvard University - U.S.A., organizing Seminars on Dante Hermeneutics.
